Manchester United came back from two goals down to beat Roma 3–2 at Old Trafford on Tuesday, November 3. Matheus Cunha scored twice in the closing minutes of the Champions League match, then received a second yellow card in stoppage time.
The club’s official match centre and Sky Sports’ final report both confirm the 3–2 result. This is a full-time report, rather than a live score update.

Three second-half goals changed the night
Matías Soulé opened the scoring for Roma in the 11th minute. Donyell Malen added a penalty six minutes later, leaving the visitors 2–0 ahead at half-time.
Bruno Fernandes started United’s recovery with a 58th-minute penalty. He converted at the second attempt after a retake was ordered for encroachment by Roma players.
Cunha then scored in the 83rd and 86th minutes to turn the deficit into a lead. His dismissal at 90+1 meant United had to finish with ten players, but Roma could not find an equaliser. Sky reports that the victory ended United’s nine-match winless run.
Another difficult visit to Old Trafford for Roma
Before Tuesday, United had won all four of the clubs’ previous meetings at Old Trafford, according to UEFA’s pre-match briefing. Those results included the 7–1 Champions League quarter-final victory in 2007 and a 6–2 Europa League semi-final win in 2021.
United entered this fixture after a 4–1 defeat at Como in the previous Champions League round. Roma had won their previous European match 4–0 against Slovan Bratislava. Tuesday’s comeback therefore gave the home side a welcome response to a difficult result on the road.
