Real Madrid beat AEK Athens 3–2 in the Champions League on November 4, recovering from two deficits before Federico Valverde scored the winner in stoppage time. Madrid’s official match page confirms the completed result at ALLWYN Arena in Athens.
Two comebacks and a late winner
Aboubakary Koïta put AEK ahead in the 12th minute, and Jude Bellingham equalised in the 32nd. After a 1–1 first half, Stavros Pilios restored the home side’s advantage in the 75th minute.
Kylian Mbappé replied three minutes later. Valverde then struck from outside the penalty area in the second minute of added time, assisted by Brahim Díaz. Sky Sports’ completed match commentary also records Koïta’s red card in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
What it means for the league phase
Madrid have won all four of their league-phase games, giving them 12 points. AEK have three points from one win and three defeats. These totals follow from UEFA’s published results; the overall table can still change as other matches finish.
Both teams next play in the Champions League on November 24. Madrid host PSV Eindhoven, while AEK visit Como.
